I would like to say that the food is ok if you crave under seasoned food or salty fried chicken and the seafood box is basa or some other fish being passed off as catfish and frozen breaded shrimp. but the customer service is great

Great food and service can’t wait to see what ill order next. I want to try everything on the menu. This is my husband and I first time eating there and we r very satisfied.
The Best Soul Food in Town. I went to cafe express because my friend Jessie told me about the food. The best OX TAILS i have ever had. The price was right, the food was GREAT and i will definitely go back. I just called and they are OPEN on SATURDAY until pm. YES YES YES. I will be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome Soul/Southern food.. Cafe Express is delicious. For $6, you get an entree and two sides along with cornbread. I can only comment on the smothered pork chop. I got it the first time I was there and it was so delicious I have not ordered anything else. I take relatives from out of town here when they come to visit.
Smothered Pig Tails. Um Um Ummmmh! Finger licking good smothered pig tails. This was my first time visiting Cafe’ Express. I was referred by a coworker and I was well pleased with not only the pig tails, but their cornbread is the bomb! Like many others, I have been searching for the perfect soul food place in Baton Rouge. My coworker and I ordered our food when we got there during the busy lunch hour and received our food to go in just a few minutes later. I will definitely be back on tomorrow, the next day and the day after that. I will tell my family and friends also. This place for sure is my new soul food spot for years to come.
Great home cooking!. This restaurant has the best Southern style home cooking/soul food that I have eaten in Baton Rouge. The prices are reasonable, and the food is well flavored. If you don’t have time to cook or go by your Mama’s house for dinner you should try the Cafe Express! The restaurant does get crowded so expect to wait in line for your food if you go during their busy times.
