Bad. Appetizer: put nacho…. Bad.Appetizer: put nacho cheese on the fried green tomatoes.Drinks: beach martini was served in a beer glass. Tasted like Hawaiin Punch and Malibu Rum. Sweet tasted like soap.Dinner: ribeye had so much salt that I had to go to the hospital and get an IV put in due to dehydration. There was so much salt on this steak that I had chemical burns on my face. The broccoli was so over cooked that it tasted like an elderly person had pre-chewed it.Waitress disappeared for most of the night.Paid $70 for this crap. This place rips off the idiots that don’t get a reservation at Tsunami. We will not be coming back.

Good food, enjoyable atmosphere. Upon my first visit to downtown BR and my first visit to a restaurant out there we ate at capital city grill. Service was good and the food was very good, although I did order my steak rare and it came pretty blue, which was ok though as that’s how I usually order a steak at a place I know well. That being said, this doesn’t detract from the fact the chef needs to learn his meat temperatures. Besides that, it was very tasty and very enjoyable.

Subpar Last Time. My wife and I have been to Capital City Grill several times. (There is now only one Capital City Grill: the other location closed.) Usually it has been very enjoyable. The last time was not. A couple we know come to Baton Rouge for the Louisiana Marathon. Both last year and this year we’ve eaten at this establishment, the second time at the suggestion of the other couple who enjoyed their first visit. This second time, less than a week ago was the opposite for them. 1. Twice, the wife ordered something only to be told after the fact that the restaurant was out of the main part of the entree. The wife in exasperation chose a third item out of exasperation, but asked the waitress to find out if that choice was out, also. It was plain that the waitress had no clue as to what from the menu could be ordered. One would think that a wait staff member at a restaurant of this caliber would know ahead of time. This is not Joe’s Hash House, although the waitress’ lack of knowledge was befitting such a place. 2. The husband ordered a fish medium rare. It came out medium, instead. The chef needs to learn the difference between medium rare and medium. They want to go to another restaurant next year. I can’t say I blame them after this disaster. I would feel the same way if my wife and/or had the same experience during our second time there. I hope that this does not portend a decline in quality of the wait staff. It’s a shame you can give a sideways rating to a restaurant. My feelings have gone from thumbs up to Thumbs sideways.

Food was good relatively above average, didn’t blow us out of our socks, but good for the price we paid. When in Baton Rouge again, We’d likely try another restaurant.

Went there after seeing a play at the Manship Theatre. We were a party of 4. We were seated right away but did not see our waitress for some time. She brought us our drinks and took our order. After 30 min we received two of our orders, 10 minutes later received the third and then another 5 minutes finally received the final order of side salad with grilled chicken. Really! 45 minutes to get a salad. The restaurant only had 6 tables steed and the largest party was a party of 5. I have eaten at the Sherwood location and received excellent service during lunch rush. This was one of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant. Will never eat there again and would not recommend to anyone.

Great food and service!. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner tonight at Capital City Grill. The food was excellent as was the service. Our server was Michael, who did an awesome job taking care of us!

I’ve never eaten here and been disappointed by my order. The wait staff are always friendly and professional, while the food is outstanding. The steak salad or crawfish touffe may be our favorites, but everything we’ve tried has been perfect. The manager of this location is top notch too. Always great to see him greeting guests and tables.
