I like Capital City Grill much more since they moved from Sherwood to downtown, as they really stepped it up a notch. The location at the bottom of the Shaw Center is great, and it’s within walking distance from many businesses, hotels and attractions in downtown Baton Rouge. Great place for out-of-towners because of the good Louisiana menu choices. The side salad is better than most restaurants,8 think because they chop the tomatoes and cucumbers small, top it with good cheese (I don’t so salads without cheese!), and the croutons are great. The chicken salad sandwich is really good! It has pecans in it and is topped with some kind of sweet and spicy honey mustard, bacon, and Swiss on wheat berry bread. I get it every time because it’s so good. Worth the visit!

Really like this place. Eaten there several times now and the food and service are both consistently great! Especially love the grilled chicken, the gumbo, and the mac & cheese.

Great Grill. Everything we ordered tasted great. My Catfish Orleans had a great shrimp sauce and red mashed potatoes. My wife had shrimp and grits, which was not on the menu, but she had them combine two appetizers into one dish. Another order at our table lwas thje fish tacos and they were very tasty. Grilled cheese on brown toast was also very good. Their thin French fries are the very best. Great location and night time atmosphere. Wait staff was very attentive. A little pricey but it helps keep the riff-raff out.
