I regularly pass by this restaurant and decided to give it a try today. It is truly a hole in the wall. While not the best Chinese I have ever had, it was an amazing value and impressive meal. I ordered the Tong Cho chicken lunch special with fried rice. I received a large portion – enough for two – of deep fried chicken with a rich, slightly spicy sauce. It was very similar to General Tso’s chicken and was served with shrimp fried rice. The shrimp were unexpected as I thought I would receive plain fried rice only. Both items were very good and I will be back. Only $5.46 for a fast Chinese lunch with pretty good service!
Over cooked chicken! Soogy fried rice! Nasty beef soup! I dont see how this place is open!
Best Chinese Food You’ll Find Anywhere!. We’ve been eating at the Chinese Inn for many years and have never been disappointed. The food is awesome and truly authentic – made when you order it so it’s always fresh and hot. We give this Chinese restaurant a BIG THUMBS UP!!! They allow you to order off of the lunch menu at night (for a little extra $), and it’s more food than most people can eat in one sitting. Make sure you order their egg rolls – made in-house and are the best you’ll ever eat! All other Chinese restaurants we’ve tried have been disappointing. We’ll stick with this restaurant forever!!!
Too much salt. Low sodium soy sauce would easily fix it. Otherwise, I cannot return. A nice looking restaurant with exceptional presentation.
Life-Changing. The Statue of Liberty. Mount Rushmore. Chinese Inn on Nicholson. The wondrous things that happen inside this magical establishment border on witchcraft. I have no doubt that their their steamed dumpling recipe will soon become a protected national monument.
Reliable, friendly staff, prompt delivery. I’ve been patronizing the Chinese Inn for 3 years and love it. I live in the Garden District, and they always arrive quickly after I place my order. They are reasonably priced, and the food is great. The delivery people are kind, and I’ve become friendly with Elaine, who often brings me my order.This is a restaurant I always call when I need good, hot, comfort food. Tip generously, if you can. The food is affordable enough to do so.
