Perfectly cooked, simple steak. Seasoned just enough to give it a little flavor, but not enough to take away from the meat. Our server was also very nice and has a wonderful personality.
Came here with my wife for our third anniversary. We got the tamales with chili for the appetizer. The tamales were bland but the chili made up for it. I got the 2 pound porterhouse mid-rare and my wife got the 2 pound rib eye medium well. Each was cooked perfect. The steaks were a little under seasoned but that could be because of how big they were. The waitress who was also the hostess did an excellent job. A drink alot and I never had an empty glass. Would definitely go back.
Hungry for a large steak? Look no farther than Doe’s. Pay by the pound and enjoy. The tamales with chili are also good. The only thing I was disappointed in was the salad.
Finally visited #doeseatplace in Baton Rouge and I am in loveeeee! Amazing food, wonderful service, amazing atmosphere, did I mention the food?!!? I got their tamales cooked in brine, salad like my mawmaw’s, filet, and home cooked fries! The steak was like butter …. I wanted to lick the plate! Definitely a big girl treat meal for the books!!P.s. Ask for Rachel! Amazing server, very knowledgeable, and so helpful!
We recently visited Doe’s because we heard good things about it. I have to say I was so disappointed in our meal. We ordered the 2lb. Ribeye medium rare and the steak came rare, very rare so rare the meat was cool. We were seated down in the bar area and it was so cold because the air was blowing directly on the table. I have to say it was a big disappointment. We will not waste our money again.
Amazing.. Perfect place for a special occasion. Reminds us of what great food is supposed to be like. Wonderful cut of steak and flavorful sides.
Way over priced for quality of the steaks – tough and unseasoned!
