Slooweessst service ever!. We stopped in for lunch and were seated at a table in a back room and literally forgotten. After 30 minutes the waitress came over to take our drink order. She got part of the order and WALKED AWAY before getting the rest of the order. She returned with some drinks got the rest of the order and disappeared again. We finally ordered our food. We watched the tables all around us get their orders…they had all gotten there after us. After waiting for 90 minutes I finally hunted her down and asked about our food. She looked genuinely surprised! The food was brought cold to the table. Our bill was all together and almost impossible to decipher. Worse experience ever!
Really Good, and I am not usually fond of Mexican Restaurants. There are few Mexican Restaurants I really want to eat at (I should say Tex-Mex). Most of them have canned salsa that I have to add Pico de Gallo to help it. Bagged stale chips. Sides of beans are usually tasteless canned sludge and the rice is dry. WELL NOT HERE!!!! I have eaten here twice in the last two months just to make sure the first time wasn’t a fluke. I have eaten Mexican food in California, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, etc. and I can honestly say that this is one of the top three for taste I enjoyed. The building is not prepossessing at all but my wife and I were really hungry while we were there for a business trip and took a chance. The usual decorations, fiesta stuff and beer signs. Some of the furniture was a little shabby and worn, but the food made the trip worthwhile. WE WILL BE RETURNING!
Delicious, big portions, reasonable prices. We got the Nachos El Rancho, the Mushroom Quesadilla and Sopapillas. All three were excellent. Contra a previous review, we found the salsa to have a nice thickness and great taste. Service was decent, too. Our new favorite.
After reading the reviews I was very very disappointed in the food. The service was absolutely terrible. Salsa was disgusting! When the waitress comes to the table and over 95% of your food is still there they should really could be concerned that something is wrong and not just hand you the check.
The absolute worst Mexican food ever ! Taste like it was frozen or boxed Mexican food , the cokes were so carbonated I couldn’t even drink it so I tried switching to sprite and same problem . The chips were stale and the salsa was bland . If this is an authentic Mexican restaurant they should be ashamed!
All Time and Long Time Favorite. I’ve been a faithful customer to El Rancho for about 10 years now. The staff are all family and very wonderful. This is probally the only place where i’ve have absolutly everything on the menu. REAL mexican food for a extremely good price. I cant say one negative thing about the place. The liquor is priced extremely well. The happy hour specials are probally the best deal in town quality wise.
Was afraid to stop here.. You never know WHAT you’ll get.. I got the lunch special #3..it was MORE than enough, excellent food, great waitress ..From Hammond, La & this is definitely worth the drive .
