Great place for lunch. I prefer this original location to the others. Reminds me of the Irish Channel bars I grew up in. Lol. Food is great, especially my favorite grilled chicken club. Like the atmosphere most of all. And it’s close to work so it’s easy to slip over. The service is always great.
As good as I remember. Friday night the LSU baseball game got delayed, so we left campus and went to George’s. I have not been to this location in a few years and my friends I was with were from out of town and have never been. I am so happy the food is still as good as I remembered. Service was friendly and fast. Food was great, though the prices have gotten a little steep, but you do get a lot of food. We ate, drank and got back in time for the first pitch.
An experience, not just a meal. After a few visits this location and the one on Highland are on our list of go to for a great casual meal in a welcoming downscale sort of environment. And I don’t mean this in a derogatory way at all.From the chicken and red bean special to Po-Boys to Burgers to the Club Sandwich, we have enjoyed the no frills fare here.Barqs in the bottle and a good stiff Manhattan are all drink choices here as well as a decent beer selection.Everyone is your friend here too.We will be back by George.15 Nov, 2014Community Iced Tea. Was driving thru on I-10 saw reviews & lived up to them. Awesome Red Beans & Rice. Also had Shrimp PoBoy. Tons of food & awesome service.
