Out of all the American buffets: Ryan’s, Barn hills etc, this one offers the largest selections of food. Everyone can find something they will like. Great rolls too of course!
Ewwww! way too many ppl and the meat guy was very rude never again !
Really bad can sometimes be really good. Man, this place is like a giant hog trough. Overcrowded, with mobs of gluttonous people running all over the place helter-skelter, like a giant stampede. Watch out or you might get trampled. Last time I went here I saw a little kid sticking his fingers in the chocolate fountain, licked them, then put them back in… and his grandmother (?) didn’t even stop him. How ratchet can you get? Behind the salad bar smells like sewage. Yet, I continue to go here to gorge myself when I’m in a bind. For fun, go around lunchtime on a Sunday for some great people-watching after church.
Disgusting. I can’t imagine why anyone would ever willingly eat there. I’d rather eat cat food before eating at Golden Corral Buffet & Grill or Ryan’s.
Make the gumbo great!!. I found the gumbo at Golden Corral very tasty. I did however, find that by adding a mixture of rice, oakra stew, and the gumbo together made it great. My wife and I average 2 to 4 times a week after 2pm to enjoy the Senior Special. Thank you Golden Corral for considering the seniors of the community who mostly are on fixed incomes.
Good food, bad steak. I went for Thanksgiving which was surprisingly crowded. I thought most people would be at home, but I guess at ~12 a person it’s an affordable dinner/lunch rather than getting a turkey dinner and eating it for the next few weeks and getting sick of it.All of the thanksgiving food and the regular food available was pretty good and since there were a lot of people there was a good turnover rate. Some things that I would avoid next time would be the mediocre tasting gumbo (and the other soups didn’t look great) and the VERY disappointing steak I got. Basically it was this huge chunk of tough meat. At Ryans, the guy grilling will make your steak to your request somewhat. But here, there was a complete disregard for my request. I wanted Medium but the guy gave me a very large piece of beyond well done steak. It wasn’t even a good well done steak either. Some GOOD things I’d take note of: YEAST ROLLS ARE GOOD. So is the baked fish!! As is the fudge and the chocolate fountain!
Special programs director. I love the fresh veggies and the great choices. The main thing that is attractive is that the buffet remains full and fresh. A good way to make me NOT visit is if I go there and dishes are old and crusty! So shout out to Golden Corral on Coursey Blvd in Baton Rouge on keeping it FRESH!!!
