Absolutely Horrendous. So I went there on a Wednesday night roughly 20 minutes before closing. I got a medium burrito with half chicken and half steak. The employee didn’t even bother to mix the meats(I even asked) up so half was chicken and half was steak. So little meat was put on my burrito that I asked for extra meat. I got three (I watched) extra pieces of steak and a handful of chicken. It was definitely not worth the extra $1.99 they charged me for it. As I chose my ingredients they didn’t look very fresh at all (although I won’t hold it against them since I was so late). When I got to salsa I asked for a little bit. I didn’t realize at the time but my burrito was smothered with salsa. Since I got to-go they wrapped the burrito and put it in a bag. When I got home the plastic bag had salsa all over the bottom of it. Once I bit into it all I could taste was salsa and the burrito itself so soggy as no other. I ended up picking out the few pieces of meat and throwing the rest away. My experience was HORRENDOUS I will not be coming back.

It Felt Good Coming Home Again. Hi Everyone,My family and I come back home to Baton Rouge about once or twice a year to see family and friends. We currently live in Texas still Izzo’s Ilegal Burrito tops anything that we have back home. Each time that we are in town we have to watch our LSU T-I-G-E-R-S win and make that familiar stop at our favorite Mexican Food Restaurant I-Z-Z-O-S Illegal Burrito. It’s become a family tradition in our home. Well it was nice coming back home to Baton Rouge where we have so many wonderful memories. Many blessings to each and everyone and have a safe trip home (wherever home may be :).Marshall, Kathy, Mickey, and Cameron14 Mar, 2013We Love This Place. When my family and I return to Baton Rouge to see family and friends – this is the place we enjoy the most. The prices are easy on my wallet and the servings are great. The service has always been kind to my family and friends…it a way: when we head out to Coyote Blues – it a family tradition, much like coming back home to be with the ones you love. Thank You Coyote Blues. We look forward to coming back home again and to paying you another visit in the near future.Marshall and Kathy

Service can use some work, but the food tastes great.

Service? What service?. The lady behind the counter was rude. This was my first visit and I didn’t know what was on the menu, or how they did things at this particular burrito place. She acted impatient while I was looking at the menu expecting me to just know what I wanted. When I asked question she would roll her eyes and answer in short, perturbed answers. I know it was a game night but no one was in the restaurant but 4 guys and there was no line. She wasn’t doing anything when I walked in. Sorry for making you do a little work at your JOB. Needless to say I won’t be going back to this place. Especially since I felt I paid more for the burrito than it was worth and wasn’t very satisfied with it. Perhaps the taste of bad service had yet to leave my mouth.

Thanks for great fare for our Lunch and Learn!. What a great local restaurant? They provided some delicious food for our Faculty Lunch and Learn last week at LSU. Thanks, Izzo’s. The faculty and staff enjoyed the food very much!Karen Sirman

Not bad. Izzo’s is by no means bad BUT its far too overpriced for the small portions of food they give you compared to many similar mexican restaurants (zippys, casa maria, superior grill etc). Izzos charges you extra for anything and gives you hardly any meat on their food. The food however is good but if you are a big eater be prepared to pay a good bit extra to get it how you want it.

Great burritos and quesadillas and salads. The service is erratic: some of the staff are consistently excellent but there are others whose attitude and lack of attention to their burrito making will make you wish that you had gone elsewhere.
