Benihana meets Golden Corral. The sushi was not bad, better than most Chinese buffets. The hibachi concept is pick your own ingredients and pass them to the cook, sort of Mongolian grill style. All of the ingredients on the raw bar were fresh, noodles, meat, shrimp, and various veggies but the cooks add the sauces, you don’t, unlike the Mongolian style, so basically you pick your ingredients and they, the cooks choose the flavorings which kinda sucks. A couple of sushi loving co-workers drug me here today and surprisingly, I had a pretty decent lunch. It’s right next to LSU, so a bargain for a hungry student, you can for sure get your fill of not stellar but decent sushi. All in all I would call it a bargain, fine dinning? No. Baton Rouge has far to many good sushi joints compared to this if you want good sushi, but its not bad for the price, clean, good service, decent. I’ll return with no protest if the guys on my team demand it again, but I probably wouldn’t return on my own, unless my kid becomes a hungry LSU student.

I’ve eaten here many times now. Great food for the price. Everything always seems fresh. Good variety of sushi even for those that do not consider themselves sushi fans. The hibachi also has a good selection, and the chefs do a great job. There is better variety for dinner, but it’s more expensive. Service is good but can get busy on weekends. Take out is a nice option as well; you pay by the weight.

Great food, cheap, clean restaurant, fast, lots of choice, usually quite busy because of proximity to LSU but always make sure to replenish the buffets.
