I was really in the mood for Italian food, figure I give this place a shot. I got carry out.Bruschetta for appetizer – I’m from the north east, I am used to tomatoes piled high on crusty bread, very sweet, garlicy, fresh basil flavors. Well it was super skimpy on the tomatoes, soggy oil drenched bread, and super acidic. It came with garlic knots which were warm and good. The tomato sauce was not for me. Again very acidic, some sort of funky aftertaste. For entree I got the tortellini piemontese and added shrimp. Not bad, shrimp was tender and pretty big. Tortellini with alfredo sauce basically, heavy oregano flavor but over all not bad. I added parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. Dipping the garlic knots in the cream sauce was my favorite part. So besides the mean looking older blonde lady at the front who told me to wait out of sight of the other customers, (I’m guessing because I was in shorts and a tee shirt) it was decent at best. Not sure it was worth $30. I give it a 5 out of 10I will most likely not be going back.

My friends and I have dinner here about once a month. Weve permanently written off several other notable restaurants as we we are not that easily satisfied. So, I was shocked to see the low rating for LaContea as our group really likes it. The service is responsibly fast, the food is fantastic, and the prices are quite reasonable. I do recommend it to my friends and coworkers as its just that good.

Business lunch on a weekday late and very nice atmosphere and lunch menu selections.$7.95 pastas and $8.95 full meals with salad and pasta. Community iced tea which is the best in town.Chicken picatta, Chicken Parm and Chicken Albanies all were good. Garlic knots come with as does a good side salad. Caesar salad is $1 up charge but worth it in my opinion. You can sub penne for spaghetti too.Since it was later we had great service and no noise since most had already eaten. Will return for a dinner date soon.

Service was great! Fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp was very good as was the minestrone soup and Mediterranean salad. Prices were very reasonable. They also had live music which is awesome

Excellent! When my sister and I wanted a simple but elegant dining experience in BATON ROUGE we came upon this restaurant. Our search for lunch led us to this pearl of Italian cuisine and a great atmosphere.

Upscale restaurant with piano bar. Nice ambiance friendly service. Perhaps a bit snobby as I was a party of one and though there were adequate number of tables open they seated me in the far back right by open kitchen passage way. HmmGood menu selection nice wine list with a varied selections of Italian wines Red/White. Also they had several Sicilian labels but sadly sold only by the bottle not glass on those from SicilyGarlic knots served was Garlicky and not bread but rather small stylish mini groles. They should stick with Italian breadService was friendly and attentiveOrdered Veal Piccata and Veal was tender sauce tasty but strangely too liquidity. Ordered a Cannoli for dessert which is made at the restaurant and was delicious. Restaurant is family owned and all are from Italy. Owner is also head ChefRestaurant has been open three days but has a good dinner crowdWorth a visit.
