I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone I know. I went with my family for a nice celebration dinner and was severely disappointed as I had heard wonderful things about this restaurant. The waitress was a little scattered and didn’t really know the menu. I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with vegetables and it tasted like cigarette butts. It was absolutely disgusting. Their red sauce tastes like it has a gallon of sugar in it. My dad got the baked shrimp pasta and that was the only good thing out of all 5 meals on the table. The decorations were quirky and cute and the atmosphere was nice so I was very sad when the food was so mediocre.
Today I ordered the meatball sandwich through major menus the sandwich was so tasty. The is the first time I’ve ordered anything and I can’t wait to order from you again.This was a delivery order and I know my office space it’s located far it was still warm. I will definitely order again.
Great ambience in a casual atmosphere. Very inviting. Service was solid. Menu largely pasta dishes and Po-Boys.Twice baked ziti, three way lasagna and Italian Chopped salad. Everything pretty mandatory but to me the red sauce is extremely sweet almost to the point of being off putting. Chopped salad was massive and filling and for what it is pretty good.Had a nice array of dessert but we did not try any this trip.Wish they had more to offer in non pasta dishes. Likely will return and try a sandwich and dessert.
Meatballs!. When I first visit an Italian restaurant, I always do the same thing. I order a single meatball. My theory, being a 22k Italian myself, is this: If the meatballs are good, then everything else will be good too. I have been there many times, and I am still ordering my meatballs on side of my entrees. They have the best meatballs I have eaten in Baton Rouge… The sauce is very good too. I always pick up a couple jars to add to my homemade marinara when I make it.
I Love this place. Hands down this is one of my favorite places in BR to dine @. The food is amazing ,the staff is wonderful. I have never been disappointed since I was introduced this jewel in 2014. The best meatballs and sauce!. I am pregnant and crave Monjuni’s meatballs and sauce. You can’t go wrong with a meatball poboy. Even before I was pregnant, it was to die for. Now if you don’t like a sweet sauce, then you won’t like it. But they have another tomato sauce with basil that isn’t nearly as sweet so you could always try that. The bread and sauce that they give you at the table is hard to stop eating. They give you some for takeout orders also. Do yourself a favor and give Monjuni’s a try. Yum!
If you like sweet red sauces…. Then you’re gonna love Monjuni’s! Personally, I love the sauce, but it’s not for everyone. I really like everything about this place. The food and service have always been outstanding.
