I really don’t understand the hype. Big cakey donuts with no real flavor. I would pefer Krispy Kreme anytime any day over these. Friendly service though.

In terms of decor and menu options it’s about as family-friendly as breakfast gets. Assuming that you order the glazed or cake doughnuts, their prices can match just about any doughnut shop around. Also, their variety is unparalleled in Baton Rouge. However, what they offer in cheapness and quantity they seem to lack in quality. The doughnuts are seldom fresh (particular the non-glazed options) and are often room temperature. In three visits I have yet sample a doughnut without a hardened, cracking glaze or frosting. For the record, I have tried roughly one and a half dozen different doughnuts and numerous varieties. Also, the majority of the cake doughnuts are immensely dense and overwhelmingly sweet. I would even go as far as to say that they are cloying in taste. Many options which would be fine with just the dough or filling are ruined with a superfluous glaze that shocks your taste buds in all the wrong ways. The peanut butter and jelly has no semblance of a peanut butter texture or taste and the maple bacon bar is overrun by an excessive amount of bacon (similar options at other establishments often have just enough bacon to contrast the maple frosting’s sweet flavor). However, I will say that some of their simpler yeast doughnuts can be fairly tasty. But with that being said, I still have no idea how anyone could mistake this for the best doughnut option in town.Perhaps the Houma location is where all of the magic happens, but I have no idea of knowing as of yet.Again, great family-oriented establishment with cheap options and a ton of variety, but there are much better doughnuts to be had in south Louisiana.Taste: 5/10Cost: 9/10Dining Area/Decor: 8/10Customer Service: 8/10Location: 9/10

Taste so bad. I agree with previous comments that say the dough is thick/dense. I went once & the regular glaze wasn’t even hot. Very painful to eat. Mary Lee is still the best in my eyes.

I wouldn’t say everything is fresh…. My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time this morning, and it will probably be our last. We got four donuts, but only the glazed was fresh. The chocolate bacon eclair, chocolate donut, and apple turnover were all stale! Freshness seemed to be sacrificed in order to keep the dozens of choices (and it wasn’t even late in the morning). Next time, I will visit somewhere with more fresh options…

The Baton Rouge location is not terrible, but a huge disappointment. I was so excited when I heard they were opening but after multiple visits it just doesn’t even come close to Ronnies in Houma.

My New Go-To Donut Spot. Definitely a game changer of the Baton Rouge donut game. Mr. Ronnie’s offers a much wider variety of donuts, as well as a drive-thru and 24/7 operating hours, than its competitors in the local market. Yes, the donuts are pretty dense, indulgent, and calorie-laden. My personal favorites are the blueberry, made with real blueberries, and the PB&J. According to several of the employees there, the red velvet and wedding cake donuts are their most popular. Overall, I’d say Mr. Ronnie’s is my new go-to donut place. The only thing you should steer away from are the burgers and fries, unless you’re super intoxicated and have a DD to make a drive-thru run. The bun-to-burger ratio is way, way off. The patties are shriveled and flavorless and until you actually open the bun up, you might be convinced they forgot the burger part of the burger. The 1×1 inch square of cheese also doesn’t help either and the fries are pretty lackluster. As long as you stay focused on what Mr. Ronnie’s does best, you won’t be disappointed.
