I cant really rate it because I was unable to eat anything off the menu. If you are a person with food allergies or limitations this might not be the place to go depending on what they are. I tried to order a salad. I asked the dressing ingredients but they didnt know. I tried to order a salad with chicken and no dressing but all of their proteins are pre-marinated. I gave it a 3 because my daughter was able to eat (while I watched) and thats what she rated it.
Newk’s is great for lunch. I’ve been to this location at least a dozen times since I work nearby and it’s always busy. The food is pretty good. When they first opened they had mango tea that the stopped carrying, which was disappointing. The pimento cheese sandwich is my favorite! It’s hot melty cheese, not like you’d typically think of pimento cheese. The chicken tortilla soup, broccoli and cheese soup, and Chili’s are good. The salads are not my favorite for some reason. The dressings seem watery to me. Food is usually fast. It’s usually confusing when you walk in because there is a crowd of people standing right inside the door looking at the menu on the wall, and you don’t know whether to go in front of them or wait for them to finish to go to the counter to order. It’s a confusing setup. The layout of the restaurant in general is crowded and doesn’t flow very well, the atmosphere and decor in particular are very comfortable and modern. The to-go area is really nice where they have things prepackaged that you can grab and take with you. I will keep coming to Newk’s for a tasty and quick lunch.
