This was easily one of the worst experiences I have had with Chinese food in Baton Rouge. The ordering process was difficult. It seemed as if the person on the phone couldn’t be bothered to listen to me as I was ordering. Once the order was successfully placed and paid for, we waited. The food arrived missing items; the delivery driver just told us to call the store. When we called, they said they could get the missing items to us in 30-45 minutes (ridiculous, considering our food was already delivered). When we demanded a refund for the missing items, we were met with resistance. Eventually, they agreed to refund what we were missing (still waiting to see if they actually did).To top it all off, the food was pretty awful. The sesame chicken was overcooked. The salt and pepper shrimp were dangerously undercooked. The rice was crunchy. The crab rangoon were absolutely disgusting. I will never go to Oriental Pearl, nor will I suggest them to anyone.
Great buffet. Used to come here about once a month but the last experience ruined it for me. I was seated promptly and after several minutes was never greeted by a serve…even after people who came in after me were. I had to get my own utensils from the server station and ask for my own check which the server just rudely dropped in front of me.
The food is so fresh. Prepared throughout the day. Extensive menu with so many options. Wonderful fresh made to order sushi. Plus sushi on the sushi bar. The buffet is always a wonderful choice. Go here. You’ll be glad you did.
We were surprised by the buffet. They have a full menu too. But after looking at the buffet we had that. It was small batches, all fresh, all good. Sushi on buffet too. Do give it a try.
It has great food! The prices are reasonable and it is family friendly.
I am a good customer and eat at this place often. I am not a big buffet person but they keep the food fresh & hot all the time.On another note I ordered off the menu today and got the Honey Chicken with fried rice. This was the BEST!!! I even called and told them how wonderful it was! You must try it!Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I recently moved to the Baton Rouge are and had been looking for a good Chinese restaurant, I had tried numerous places not really liking them all that much. When I found the Oriental Pearl I was in heaven, they have wonderful food and service. I will go no other place now!!!
