Went there for the first time today because I wanted something other than fast food without having to spend a lot. I had a shrimp poboy and it was SO good. I had a taste of my son’s Blt and that was also delicious. The bacon was cooked perfectly. I was not expecting the amazing service. I felt like I was family. I was with a large group including hungry kids and they were so patient and friendly. You don’t get that kind of service too often these days. I can’t say enough good things about this place and we will be coming back each time we visit baton rouge. I was told by the owner they’ve been in business for 75 years and I understand why.
Owens offers good home cooking. Order from the menu or a la carte. The owners, Cynthia & Ronald, are friendly & accommodating. A great find!

Owen’s Grocery and Market. Some of the BEST Meatloaf I have ever eaten. The cabbage is a must have, it is excellent too. Friendly service and wonderful people who own this store.

Great Find!!. This is one of the best kept secrets in Baton Rouge. I ordered the lunch special for $6!! (baked chicken, mashed potatoes and corn) I loved the food and the customer service was excellent.
