An LSU classic. Admittedly a bit old, dark. But I like this place. Particularly the pizza. Thin crust. But nice and cheesy. Good ground meat. My favorite – ground meat/pepperoni pizza. Maybe lacking a little in flavor – needs a good dose of red pepper flakes spread on top. Order at the counter. Sit down until your name is called. TV’s on all the walls. A dining room. Also an adjacent bar area. LSU sports pictures all over. A nice walk down memory lane.
Old fashioned restaurant and bar. It’s a classic. Management is very nice and gets things done. Food is great. My favorites are the meatball poboy, pizzas and calzones. They use real French bread on the poboys. The cookies usually seem stale, but pretty sure they are freshly made (maybe they need a new recipe). I like to come here for lunch since its close to my office, but they deliver too for those busy days with a $15 min.
Horrible management!!!!!!! Did online order and there was a $2.00 difference when driver arrived with food and called management and they act like it was your fault. After contacting the owner he never contacted me back. Not a way to take care of customer service.
Horrible Service!!!!. Met a friend at this establishment this weekend for cocktails and i can honestly say i have NEVER had such horrible service from management. The owner/manager was extremely rude!!! I will never do business here again!!!!
The worst food I have ever eaten!!!. Me and a couple of my friends were there around dinner time and I saw the big board outside advertising their pizza’s. I was very hungry and decided to order the large pizza. I have never ever had anything that disgusting to eat before in my life. The pizza base was just a pre-frozen disc of some bread-like texture, the sauce had no taste and was very watery. There was thick layer of cheese on the top. All three layers were completely separate and the pizza base was so bad that even the watery sauce did not make the bread edible enough. The cheese was a really thick sheet and tasted old. There were a few other people in the restaurant and this was a weekend. I would never ever eat there ever again. For all those who say the food is good, either they have no taste-buds or are being very disingenuous or are somehow related to the owner.
Poor Service. The worse customer service ever, and it is really bad when the store owner gets in your face and yell. I will never go again. Terrible!!
LSU alum from San Antonio. The Pastime is a classic college dive….I think some of the guys sitting at the bar were there when I was in college. It’s fun, has wonderful roast beef po boys and reminds me of some of my best LSU memories….like the plastic beer pitchers for obvious reasons. Don’t expect a five star restaurant. Expect good po boys, pizza and cheap drinks. I always try to eat there when I am in Baton Rouge.
