We have always liked Ralph and Kacoo’s. The gumbo is good and the entrees offered are always of generous portion. It has been many, many years since we have been to the Red Stick location. We were pleased with our meal. This location is not the cleanest unfortunately. The bathrooms are not well maintained. Our server was very welcoming and attentive but the expeditor who brought our food lacked social skills and sighed and rolled her eyes at me when I asked for Tabasco. She never brought it. I had to ask our server for it. This place is getting very long in the tooth and really needs a major remodel. This was a nice change and acceptable stop for us for lunch while enroute from Houston to NOLA. I am not sure we would do it again though.

I asked a friend today where I could get red beans and rice. She suggested meeting for lunch at Ralph and Kacoo’s. Our meal was really good. My friend had the oyster poboy and I got my red beans and rice fix. Considering we went for lunch, I felt very happy with the portions and price. $8 for a hearty meal. Flavor was great and excellent service.
