Great Variety. The food at Serops Express II is good, but my favorite part about going there is the variety. You’re served cafeteria-style, and get to see all the side items in front of you. There are about two dozen different sides to choose from: Mousaka, Potato & Onions, Creamed Spinach, Mujadarah, Rice Pilaf, Smothered White Beans, Lentil Beans, Spinach & Lentil Soup, Grape Leaves, Stuffed Yellow Squash, Sauteed Eggplant, Fried Cauliflower, Corn, Mustard Greens, Steamed Broccoli, Steamed Cabbage, Falafel, Green Beans, Sweet Peas and Carrots, Spinach Pie. The stuffed grape leaves are vegetarian, so don’t expect something as good as home cooking. But otherwise the hummus is good, and I love their falafel. They make an excellent Lebanese tea, so get that rather than a soda. The restaurant itself is pretty small, without that many tables, but it’s still an excellent place for lunch.

You have it listed as closed. It is open and doing well. I eat there once a week.

Fit for a Sultan. If you’re into fast food, how about jumping on a magic carpet ride to something tastier than the chain outlets? This restaurant is one of a family of three scattered around our area & serving us since 1979. Serop’s has a long history in B.R. of providing top quality Lebanese & Greek specialties. The unique feature of Serop’s Express is the cafeteria style service. One cruises thru the lineup & selects fully prepared, ready to enjoy items from a wide variety of meat, fish & vegetarian selections. Both warm & cold sides are offered. Choose a combo plate & pay according to the number of items selected. Salads are also available, as well as pita wraps & meat plates. Pita bread comes in white or whole wheat choice & is included on every platter with Grecian sauce. All of the food is homemade, on site, with fresh natural ingredients…no preservatives, no animal fat, no stock & no MSG. Fountain drinks & Lebanese tea include free refills. Try Serop’s for your next picnic or gathering of friends. Party trays are available on 15 minutes notice, or one may order side dishes by the pint or quart. The Jefferson Hwy location, my usual haunt, is open from 10:30am-7:00pm, Mon.-Sat. Major credit cards accepted & plenty of free parking. Visit their website for updates: http://www.seropsexpress.com. Other locations are: 504 Main St. (Downtown) & 18169 Highland Rd., near I-10 (in front of Home Depot). Prices at all locales are very reasonable.
