New Staff – Same Great food. Just wanted to say thank you for the kind comments, and also pointing out some short-fallings on our service! We have new and friendly people working the counter (and kitchen) and I (the owner) make it a point to be in the restaurant working and meeting people several times per day.We have worked very hard to make Smokin Aces what it is today (a restaurant that sells out almost daily) and we want to make EVERY guest feel like a super star. Disappointing Service. I visited Smoking Aces on Friday, February 8 at approximately 2pm. I was in a rush, on my way to work. The cashier was extremely rude. I had a question about the chips that were offered with the meal and she kept pointing to a display behind the screen that was not visible from the outside. I paid with $20 cash and only realized when i got to work that I was short changed $8.So in summary: good food but be prepared for rude service. You may want to pay with a card because the cashier cannot count.

Search is Over. Good Q in Mid City.. Using a 225 Best Eats coupon, I tried Aces for the first time today. I will definitely be going back. Their Q is tender, moist, smoky and flavorful. They give you plenty for the price. Brisket, pork and chicken are all good. My favorite is the brisket, though, for what its worth. The sauce is perfect for sopping up with the bread. The slaw and beans are good, too. Podnuh’s on Fl. Blvd. and Jays on Government St. should be worried.
Real good food. Plenty for the money and real pecan taste BBQ.
