It isn’t the best barbecue, but it was quite tasty. The meats were delicious and I also enjoyed the big, fresh onion rings (so crunchy!). The mac n cheese was nothing special – needs a higher cheese to noodle ratio.Recommendation: take your to go box to some location around the LSU Lakes for a picnic of the weather is nice.
Expectations. Maybe my expectations are a little high, but I can’t see how this place has so many likes. But I did notice some were from people with 1 review…yeah. I stopped in last Saturday and went with the special; chicken, ribs, sausage and 2 sides. The chicken was bland, the sausage tasted like Manda’s (not a good thing), and the ribs were tiny, overcooked, and lacked flavor. The mac n cheese tasted like it came from a supermarket. The best thing I ate was the potato salad. Sauce on the side was ok, at least they know not to cover everything with it. Then again, it may have helped. Really disappointed after reading the good reviews and I was actually excited to try it, but once again, disappointed by Baton Rouge’s inadequate bbq. The search for good Q IN Baton Rouge continues.
