NEVER AGAIN. Just picked up hunan beef, pepper steak, the calamari and a salmon roll. The beef had a RAINBOW film over it and the food was just awful and tasted old. The calamari was burned it had been left in the frier so long, and oh the salmon.. it was MUSH. I know these restaurants aren’t ever the best quality, but this was downright inedible. BEWARE!

Never again. I went here for lunch. First off when you walk in it is so hot! Like no A/C hot! I ordered two rolls and the springs rolls for myself and a friend to share. Thinking that it would be enough. The total was $19.03. I instantly felt it was kinda high since you can go to Tiger or Nagoya Caf and get 3 rolls with soup and salad for $10. When I got back and opened the to-go bag I could have died. These rolls are a 3rd the size of EVERY other sushi place I have been and the white tuna tasted rancid. I will never go to this place again. On top of the terrible rolls, we were missing two of the spring rolls and the waitress was very slow and not pleasant at all. I would not send my friends or even enemies here.

Inferior Service. I thought the food was finey, but definitely not worth the atrocious service. They may be hiring, but I wouldn’t work there. I went with a group of people. I was the second person to order, and the last to be served in the group. I had to ask about my food twice before I got anything. And the servers were not sympathetic or apologetic about it at all. And they must have thought I was dumb because the food I ordered included salmon on top. What they gave me had a banana on top. I asked for the menu so I could check my order. As I suspected, I wasn’t what I ordered. I said it wasn’t right and she said she’d get me what I ordered. My friends and I had someplace else to be and I didn’t feel like dealing with more shoddy service. I said forget it and I wouldn’t be paying for this dinner. And I didn’t. I don’t see Sushi Village staying in business much longer unless they get their act together. They didn’t get one red cent from me and they won’t have a future if they don’t check themselves.

Unimpressed. Just came back from my first visit to Sushi Village. On a positive note, I will say that the shrimp tempura and the Hawaii Roll were delicious (they were what my wife ordered). Since I have a large appetite, I opted for the AYCE menu. Strangely the waiter never mentioned it, and only brought the AYCE menu to me after I asked. I am a regular at Sushi Masa on Essen, and I felt that the offerings at Sushi Village were inferior. The sashimi I ordered was mushy and not fresh, and the rolls were OK, but nothing special. Our waiter (who told us he was from Shanghai) was attentive, but not very friendly. I’ll stick with Sushi Masa.

We’ve Become A Regular. This restaurant recently opened and I decided to give it a try. I was a little put off by the fact that there were no Hibachi Grills for a visible show. When I saw how reasonably the food was priced I thought… Who needs a show with these great prices!! LOL The food is prepared with car and is well seasoned. I go to eat lunch at least once a week and have taken clients there. We’ve only eaten hibachi and teriyaki and can’t attest to the sushi quality but if it is anything like what we’ve tried, you won’t be disappointed. It is quiet, great tasting food and value priced. Give it a try!

Don’t judge this place by its looks. The strip mall setting is unappealing, the lighting is inconsistent, the music was set to Taylor Swift and Kesha, and the walls had Italian-style wine pictures hanging in thin frames. The menu is low-priced, and offers hibachi with no hibachi tables in view. All in all, Sushi Village gives a terrible first impression. But any sushi place with an Engrish menu and all-Asian staff has promise, so we gave it a chance. We started with Gyoza dumplings. Interestingly, they are filled with shrimp instead of pork, and their shumai have crab instead of shrimp. The Gyoza had a good flavorful filling, and the shell was pan-fried and had a nice crisp crust to it.We also had a snow crab naruto (ordered off-menu). It was not served with a sauce typical of the dish, but it didn’t need it because the snow crab was quite flavorful. But the highlights of the dinner were the April roll (roll of the month, but they spelled it Apirl; basically a RockNRoll topped with steak) and the Fire Dragon roll (tempura shrimp and avacado inside, salmon and crabstick on top). The eel sauce has a little spicy kick to it, which set off the flavor of the rolls perfectly. In addition, the Fire Dragon roll was artistically presented, as you can see in the picture attached. The one disappointment was the fried ice cream dessert. It was all batter and no ice cream. But at $3.50, I didn’t feel much buyer’s remorse.EDIT: Oh, and the service was great. Attentive and friendly.Sushi Village may not compete with Itchiban or Tsunami in style, but it has it where it counts and at a great price. Go here!

Disappointing. Sushi Masa on Essen is much better with a similar concept. The sushi rolls lack flavor and texture. It is better than sushi from a buffet but only slightly.
