Great, and while not as historic as the original, in some ways better. Always try to come to The Chimes when in Baton Rouge, and the new location doesn’t disappoint. Parking is much easier, and while it is decades newer than the original it still puts off the same atmosphere, but updated. Can’t go wrong with anything, but always a fan of the Po Boy, and how can you not like a Shrimp and Grits appetizer. While there are lots of great places in Baton Rouge, this should always be on your short list of the places to go, haven’t found anything here that you shouldn’t order.

I had the Crawfish touffe, it tastes Heavenly! My husband had the Half & Half choice, with fried catfish and fried shrimp, and said it was real good also. The waiter was very attentive and courteous. There is a new menu, with prices a little higher than what was currently posted on this site; but the meal was still worth every cent!

Best chargrilled oysters in the area. They have a large selection of draft beer on tap. Good food and great atmosphere. I eat in the bar area most times but have eaten in the restaurant area as well. Both clean and good service.

I was really disappointed that the Chimes did not offer veterans anything special on Veterans Day weekend. There were two other Vets with me who felt the same.We eat at the Chimes fairly regular or should I say we used to!

Enjoyed the bar scene, very comfortable and plenty of selections. I like eating at the bar, oysters, soups, sandwiches are all good, no complaints. Lotta fried stuff on the menu. I did not like sitting in the actual restaurant as the service was below average. Distracted staff no refills on waters and tea. Sit at the bar, get a local brew, and enjoy the atmosphere/game.

Service was quite slow and food was mediocre. Was also slightly overpriced. I would not recommend to other people as a restaurant. It’s a better bar rather than an eatery. There location near Louisiana State University is better.

Love this place! Perfect place for a girls night out, it can be a bit noisy but not to much of a problem. The food is delicious and the service is always good.
