Breakfast. Six of us ate breakfast. We all had different menu items. No one had any complaints. We had a generous serving of grits and they had a perfect consistency, not too runny and not too firm. All breakfast items were correctly cooked and warm when served. Everything tasted great, unfortunately we did not have anything to complain about. Waitress was very friendly and efficient. We will differently return when we have the opportunity.

Not Fit for the Jester. This restaurant is one of the poorest I’ve been to in the city. Breakfast was aweful! The eggs where burnt and they couldn’t provide many of the toppings they advertised and the grits where disgusting like gritty water. The grits are advertised as smoked Gouda cheese grits but there was clearly no cheese. I asked why there was no cheese and the serve told my table they don’t order that cheese anymore, but its on the menu still. The hash browns where actual potatoes cubes but where soggy and lacking flavor. Dinner was almost as bad, I had a nice stiff drink before. I ordered the steak which was not to temp and covered with a foul blue cheese butter mix. The cream potatoes where made from the bag which i was surprised because they obviously have potatoes in the kitchen. The Steak itself was tough and cooked to much on the outside, that tell me they cooked it in an oven. The Kings Bistro presents itself as a Classy establishment with its modern decor but fails to deliver where it counts. Luckily the Kingfish is across the street in the Hilton and is worthy to have King in their name.

Ken is the most amazing bartender in baron rouge! I can’t believe I have never heard of this bar before. He makes all of his drinks with the talent and care of a true professional. I will be sure to let all of my friends know about this bar and what a wonderful experience I have had in Ken’s care!

Luscious Lunch. I happened to be caught in a mild rain shower downtown and stepped into the Hotel Indigo to try and stay dry. I was welcomed immediately at the door by the staff. Since it was lunch time I decided to get a bite and boy was I glad I did. I sat at their upscale but casual very cool bar. The bartender, Ken, was super friendly and after taking my order, twisted my arm to try one of his special concoctions, a French 75. It sounded so good there wasn’t a lot of twisting needed. It was superb. My shrimp and grits appetizer was wonderfully tangy and spicey and my flatbread pizza was excellent. I would highly recommend a stop at Hotel Indigo for lunch, dinner or drinks, even if it isn’t raining.

I didn’t have any food, but the drinks and the bartender were wonderful. I recommend the sazerac.

Nice lunch!. I greatly enjoyed my lunch at the King Bar & Bistro. The atmosphere is bright and modern and would be an excellent spot to take a client to lunch. I ordered the Farmer’s Market Panini which had perfectly grilled veggies and delicious balsamic vinegar. My hubby tried the Farmer’s Market Roasted Chicken and it was very straightforward and well prepared. Just a warning, the portions are smaller than most Louisianians are used to, but the quality and presentation of the food certainly made the price worthwhile in my mind. I can’t wait to go back for a happy hour to see how the drinks are!
