Yes, good, this will do. Tims has honest bread, perfectly adequate portions and good prices. Flavors are mid-seasoned to standard American diner. Sandwiches are hand-assembled, which is remarkable for Baton Rouge. How can a sandwich NOT be hand-assembled Visit a Subway. But they hand-assemble. Do they? Do they really? Can ready-portion Sysco lunchmeat micro-measured in wax paper and delivered in a filing cabinet ever be the basis for a po-boyAt Tims, I had a hamburger po-boy and they put about a patty and three-quarters on it. There were odd-shaped edges. This is good. Not the odd-shaped edges of McDonalds haphazard assembly. These edges were odd because the patty was round and the bread was oblong. Tims is honest with its customer and itself.Meat was moist and tasted like meat. Bread was a good texture. Not as good as Leidenheimers (nothing is: end of story) but also not the Cottons marshmallow white that trash Baton Roughens call bread. It had weight. My dining companion is a connoisseur of rice and gravy. He had the hamburger steak with onions over mashed potatoes and said it was better than average and that he would eat at Tims again. I agreed. Our saying we would eat somewhere again is high praise if spoken in a low standard tarpit like Baton Rouge.Tims reminds me of the outer limits po-boys shops of Orleans. Its not as soulful as something on Tchoupitoulas or Gentilly. Its more what youd find in Arabi or Harvey. Working lunch with good portions, hand done and fast served. Which is honest good in its own way.Grade is B+ for Tims Po-Boys on Monterrey. Points reduced for greasiness of onion rings. Add them back if you dont mind deep fried flavor and youd get an A-.The more important score: Would go back.

Southern University Alumni. Visited Tim’s Po-boy on yesterday (6/11/2012) on the advise of a friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My friend told me to get the roast beef po-boy and it was great!! The po-boy was actually pretty close to what I’m accustomed to getting in New Orleans. The place was clean, the food was great with fast and friendly service at a reasonable price. I had a roast beef po-boy, fries and a drink all for less than $10.00. The menu consist of po-boys, hamburgers, seadfood plate dinners, and salad’s. I definitly go back for more.

Went to Tim’s on my lunch…. I went to Tim’s on my lunch break today and ordered the smothered mushroom burger. It was very good, although I would have preferred it to be a little more seasoned. Nice mom-and-pop burger joint. They are only open for lunch Mon-Sat. Quick service and quite friendly. Definitely will be back. Oh yeah, bring your appetite! Portions are huge and very reasonably priced.
