Great spot to pick up and I do emphasize pick up some good seafood eats when in the area.Star taken off due to iffy area of town and no where to sit and eat which arguably disqualifies it from being a restaurant. On the food side you can get all you want already prepared pretty well or from the fresh seafood case as well. Also a small grocery style area for other fixings you might need for home cooking. Stopped in again the other day but left when we were reminded they had no seating. Will stop by for to go if in area but not taking a special trip there anytime soon.
Tony’s is a Baton Rouge treasure. It is located in North Baton Rouge and is very much an institution. Gone are the days when you could watch live catfish being clubbed before dinner modernity does take the edge off. But, the cooking is just as legit and real as ever. Presumably the catfish also prefer the situation. The hot line is full of red beans and shrimp etouffe, smothered okra and lima beans. Mustard Greens and Spinach Madeline. You get the idea. Tony’s is the apotheosis of the plate lunch; a shrine to cakey corn bread and naps. There isn’t better place to get boiled shrimp or crabs in season. Just go, it is amazing. heydelhiblog.wordpress.com
