I got a basic cheeseburger with bacon and some macaroni and cheese, and while this meal may not be the exact foods people would go to Voodoo for, I was very very pleased. It came out quickly AND tasting very good, especially given the price. Service was great, too. Girl at the counter was friendly and accommodating (especially since I was just wanted something basic) and the guy who brought the food asked me if I needed any mayo or mustard (before I was even able to ask about that). Loved the environment, too. Good lunch choice.
Terrible.. On top of hiring people that are incapable of getting your ordering in, they charge $8 for meat without sides and charge $2 for each side. Why not include the side and raise the price? Oh, yeah. So they can make more money on poor service and terrible dry brisket and tasteless smoked chicken. Never coming back here again. There are better places in Baton Rouge for bbq.
Great service, great food!! The zydeco trio with the jerk chicken, pulled pork and brisket was the best BBQ I’d had in a loooong time.
Very under-cooked chicken; ignores customer issues.. We order from here on a regular basis at work, and normally the food is very good. This past Saturday, the chicken was significantly under-cooked, to the point nobody was able to eat it, and it had to be thrown out. A polite email was sent out making them aware of the issue (though finding the email addresses to send it to was virtually impossible, and there is no customer service telephone number — just a franchise info number), and thanking them for ensuring we wouldn’t run into this issue with any future orders. A week later, no response has been forthcoming from the restaurant or it’s two franchise owners. Hopefully it’s a fluke, but until someone there decides to reply to the email, our office will order elsewhere.
Changed my like to a dislike. :(. I live right next to this place, and it was like heaven having such good burgers and cheese fries nearby. Well they’ve recently changed the menu, the cheese fries have queso on it which steals from the bbq salt that is on the fries, the burgers have been revamped but not in a good way, the bread is low quality now and they are so much smaller, and it used to come with fries, now you have to add them to your order. Sad to say, I’ve lost one of my favorite restaurants.
Can I get it hot?. My food is always almost cold to medium never like it is freshly cooked, just sitting under a light for hours. The new babybacks are ok but need a little more flavor which was added by the sauce. The sides are good but 15 bucks for this I’m not willing to visit frequent. I can get a whole great slab from TJ ribs for 20 and a side. Staff gets better everytime I go there though.
Voodoo is a great BBQ place. Their sides are especially tasty. Get the jerk chicken, you won’t be disappointed.
