Fantastic Restaurant!! I have been here numerous times and have never been disappointed! Best Sushi place in baton Rouge! I recommend the Seared Tuna Roll, Karadynamite Roll, Hayden Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and the Mango Shrimp Tempura Roll! Yumm!
The food was fantastic and the service was awesome! I’ve been here before and it’s always been good but today was just ten times better! Our waitress was super sweet! I wish I had gotten a name! Great place
If you want to pay for sub-par service and be sat by loud, sophomoric college students, then this is the place for you! I will never return. Ever!
Best Japanese in Baton Rouge. Almost everyone I’ve talked to seems to prefer the Waka House location on Sherwood, but I prefer this one. Sherwood has overcooked my food before, and Highland’s location is simply better and the atmosphere is nicer. The Sherwood location feels like dining in a brightly colored apartment bedroom.The Katsumoto roll is amazing, especially for those of us whose stomachs cannot handle uncooked rolls (something about the sushi rice hurts my stomach). For lunch, only the Highland location offers the Kowa lunch box, and for the price, it can’t be beaten. Tons of delicious food for like $8.50. Love this place.
Great food! Good environment! Affordable price! Always come for suishi and noodle. Plus the service is excellent.The server is patient.
Terrible Hospitality. My sister and I visited Waka House in mid December because they have EXCELLENT food, however, when a roll wasn’t to my sister’s liking, the manager refused to re-make the roll saying this is how they made it even though the server said it typically came another way (which we knew because we have ordered it before) and then said there would be a charge for a new roll. I am stunned at the lack of customer care by this place and the additude and tone of the manager who showed such lack of consideration for his customers. Even though I love the food, I will not go back here because it is under poor direction.
Excellent Donburi. The sushi wasn’t anything stellar, but was definitely good. However, the Eel donburi was some of the best I’ve ever eaten. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, and the prices are quite reasonable for what you’re getting. I didn’t have very high hopes for a sushi place crammed in between a Walmart and a Subway, but I walked away from my meal quite pleased.
