If I was the mayor of plate lunch city this is where I would hold court. It’s damn delicious! Go here and eat things. Staff was super nice.

A big secret. If you were a patron of the old Louie’s when it was on Chimes Street and didn’t mind standing in line for a burger, omelet or the best hash browns on the planet, then I have a secret for you. If you want a real live, show-nuff Louie burger and Louie Hash Browns the way they are supposed to be made, go to Zeeland Street Market. Oh, and there isn’t a line.Everything else is pretty darned tasty too and surprisingly healthy.

Meh…. I love the people who work at Zeeland Street. I’ve lived in the Garden District for almost 20 years and I try to support my local shops like Perks, etc. BUT…eight bucks for a biscuit and coffee is just too much. Don’t get me wrong, the coffee is great but the biscuits are mediocre at best. I keep going back hoping for improvement but it’s just not happening. Old tasting sausage on a biscuit that doesn’t hold together? For close to ten dollars?? Sorry but, no…not anymore.

Long Time Favorite. I hadn’t been able to eat here in years–it used to be my favorite lunch spot from my old job. Now my new job enables me to stop in for breakfast a couple of times a week. Yay! Their omelets are the bomb. Hash, too. Miss those fish dishes, though…maybe Saturday. In response to some other reviews: Their side dishes are simple with a few exceptions. I think they are perfect accents for the entrees. I recommend any of their specials.

Their brisket is insane…. Tasty as all get out with a hefty helping of smoke. If only it were a bigger plate. It’s worth a trip just for the brisket…

I don’t get the hype. I think Zeeland is a great neighborhood eatery in that the folks are friendly and it’s in one of my favorite neighborhoods. I’ll continue to patronize the place when friends want to go… BUT the food really isn’t all that. I know many folks who can cook better than that including myself! . For example the black eyed peas were totally bland. Also, I had gumbo the other day… I ate half and tossed the rest.It just wasn’t very tasty. I NEVER leave a drop of gumbo in my bowl if it’s good
