I hope my dogs forgive me. I was really looking forward to my birthday dinner. The wait was long, the staff was too busy to be hospitable and the food…….my dogs sniffed the leftovers I took home for them and (after long contemplation) slowly ate it (they had a light lunch and were starving)….. My husband had the chicken and said his dinner was fine. For what I was expecting – I was VERY disappointed to say the least. The guests at the next table expressed their agreement. I know my husband tried going to McDonalds would have been like going to France for my birthday compared to Kobes….going to get more Pepto now.
Run of the Mill Japanese. Food was okay-certainly edible, but nothing impressive. I ordered hibachi filet and lobster. Filet was juicy and tender, but lobster was a little tough and overcooked. They charged extra for fried rice, which blew my mind as I’ve never gone to a hibachi restaurant where it wasn’t included. On top of that, the rice was super peppery and had way too much egg in it. My husband and I were so underwhelmed, we didn’t even bother with dessert. I don’t know how they get away with charging as much as they do, when there are tons of other Japanese restaurants in the area. For the price, I’d much rather go to Ichiban-it’s cheaper and tastier.
Mr.Vegas. Our Sushi chef Mr. Vegas is amazing. He makes every visit better than the last. He always encourages us to try new things and we are always delighted with his choices. The service is outstanding. If you don’t like to dine out with small children around the best time to go is between 8:30 and 9:00pm. It’s usually cleared out by then and quieter thus a more pleasant and romantic experience.
Fun and delicious. Our chef was so funny and entertaining. The food didn’t disappoint. Our orders included filet mignon, lobster, teriyaki chicken, and scallops. Everything was great!
Fun place for kids to watch their food being cooked! Good size portions and entertaining.
Best Hibachi in town. I have tried Tokyo-overpriced, Shogun-DIRTY, Kobe-friendly waitstaff/cooks, and the food was great!!!
Kobi is the Obi. Japanese steak houses are always a good time and while its rear to find one that doesn’t use many of the same cheesy jokes, and Kobi fits right in there they do have excellent food. They are always polite. 4 people will easily run you 100 plus but eat slow enjoy the show and you can easily have a 2-3 hr meal.
