Happy birthdays. We tend to cross the river for special occasions. have gone several times for birthdays and whatever. We have great time with Ronnie and ask for him. He puts on a little show, but his best quality is carrying about his customers. He makes a mean steak, don’t get me wrong, but very personable. Also, I think their ginger dressing is the best around and I’ve had it from many states.
Hoping. I looked for a menu on the internet before I went but I could not find one. Walking into Kobe’s, there is a koi pond which was very cool. Then inside, the employee at the bar was very nice with a pleasant greeting and a smile. After that…part of our group stood in the front area for about 10 minutes. The restaurant looked very dark and just average. The sushi bar looked pretty interesting but I am not big on sushi. We were told we would have a private area but was seated at a grill. I asked the waitress what teppanyaki was and she said it was a japanese word…ok – that was helpful. Then we got moved to the private area and 30 minutes later a waitress showed up and we had to ask for menus. Salad (from a iceberg bag mix) and a small cup of broth came first. I ordered scallops/shrimp and steamed rice. I got fried rice ($2.50 extra). The scallops were cut up, everything was kind of just mixed together in lumps on the plate. If it wasn’t bland, it was a bit greasy. Nothing has been updated since 1981. Plus, the private area did not include the chef cooking for us. I paid $35.00 for bland food and slow service. I would not recommend going there and I won’t be back.
