I don’t know why I give this place so many chances. The majority of the food is absolutely horrendous, the kitchen appears to be dirty, and the employees barely speak any English so it’s extremely difficult to convey an order over the phone. On one occasion, there was a cat roaming around in the waiting area. Another time, there was a caged parrot right next to the restroom making a ruckus. The ONLY decent thing on the menu are the friend wontons; everything else is terrible.
This place was the worst. Smelled of old, burnt grease as soon as I walked in, and I definitely should’ve taken a hint. The food tasted old. To top the visit off, there was no toilet paper, hand soap, or paper towels in the men’s room the day I visited. Once I used the men’s room, and saw this, i felt even worse about dining here…. (The cook came and used the restroom as I was rinsing my hands the best I could). I am usually willing to give a place more than one shot before writing it off, but that was enough.
Don’t Eat!. Ordered 5 different dishes and they all tasted the same ( weird flavoring) . $61 worth of non edible food. I called and the girl on the phone had to translate English to the owner and all I heard was yelling in Chinese saying nothing was wrong with the food. When I have 5 full dishes of food that no one could eat there’s a problem! We travel all over the US and eat Chinese everywhere and this had to be the worst!
I’m not satisfied with their food. I’ve been there two times even when the food sucked the first time only because I wanted to give them another chance. The food doesn’t seem fresh. It’s disgusting. Their meat isn’t white or good. It has a weird color to it and tastes horrid. All of the food really isn’t good. Not trying to hate, just being bluntly honest. I will not go back. ( btw the eggrolls don’t even taste good and their fried rice is pretty plain)
Gave it 2 chances…. The first time we at here (which was about 5 months ago) the lemon chicken I ordered was decent, but the rest of my family said they didn’t like what they ordered, and none of us liked their rice either. They’re also not people friendly there, so it also adds to another reason why we won’t be going back. If the food was good, we could look past that.We decided to give this place another chance recently, since our favorite Chinese restaurant (China Bear) is closed on Sundays. We called in our order to Mayflower, just like we did before, spent $60 or $70 for 5 people, and what we got wasn’t worth $5.00. My lemon chicken was so overcooked, a fork could barely go through it. And again, what my family ordered was something they normally like, but not from here. We won’t be going back.If you want big portions, great food at reasonable prices, and also where the staff is friendly, go to China Bear (On Youree Dr.) We have been eating there since they first opened, and they have yet to disappoint. They are a little farther to us than Mayflower is, but it’s worth it.
It’s pretty good food, I mean I’ve had better, but it’s cheap and huge portions. 2 people can eat 1 to go meal. You will not leave here hungry
Big portions, good food. Mayflower has the best fried rice in S’port/Bossier City. The customer is always treated to big portions of good food at a fair price-especially with the buffet at the new Airline & Old Minden Rd. location. Recommended.
