Best Mexican in Town. If you’re looking for a great atmosphere, great service and Awesome Mexican Food, look no further. We fell in love with Blue Agave the first time we ate here in it’s opening week. Today they know us like we are family. 5 star’s . Blue Agave is open six(6) days a week, closed Sunday’s so they can be with family.
Very Disappointed. Received a gift card for my birthday from this place. Ordered the seafood chimichanga and added fries as a side instead of the usual. The wife had steak and chicken fajitas, and my son had a chicken and cheese tortilla. My wife asked the lady on the phone for just cheese and meat on the nachos maybe three times before the girl would stop asking if we wanted sour cream etc on them. She then stated, just chicken and cheese on the tortilla because it was for our child. It came with onions stuffed inside to where we had to break it out for him to eat. Lastly, the menu states that the seafood chimichanga comes in a flour tortilla, stuffed with crawfish, shrimp and crab meat. Really? First off it states nothing about the tortilla being a spinach tortilla. That should be stated on the menu. Secondly it was not STUFFED with anything. Each one had maybe 3 to 4 shrimp, 3 to 4 very tiny crawfish tails and absolutely NO crab meat. What a waste of a $50 gift card. I would have given the card to someone else just for $50 cash in hand if I would have known the food was going to be this bad. Oh and their fries were cold and mushy.
Vegetarian Friendly. As a vegetarian, I often struggle with ordering from Mexican menus, but at Blue Agave, the vegetable dishes are fully vegetarian–no chicken fat in the red Spanish sauce or beef broth in the special Agave rice. Both the veggie enchiladas and the veggie quesadilla are fantastic–generous portions, and delicious, fresh ingredients. The food is served relatively quickly, even though the restaurant is often very busy. The lunch menu prices are a bargain and the dinner menu prices are also reasonable. The building is clean, up-to-date, and well decorated.
BLUE Agave is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Lafayette. We have been going there for three years. Everything is always fresh! Some our favorite items are: guacamole, chunky hot sauce, margaritas and enchiladas. The staff is always friendly and accommodating.
Good Tex-Mex. Half price house margaritas during happy hour. Outdoor seating nice despite being next to the parking lot. Recommend rellenos vacos, table side guacamole, ribs, and ceviche.
Margaritas are very good as is the food. My husband and I have never been disappointed. Thumbs up!
Very good chips and salsa…and food was good. Service could improve thou
