Love me some Chops! My favorite plate lunch is the brisket with their rice dressing. So delicious! Best rice dressing! Their plate lunches usually come with a dessert (a cookie) which is a great bonus!
Chops offers fresh meats even grass fed, prepped food ready to grill or bake. Their boudin balls with cheese are delicious. They also offer plate lunches and their prices are reasonable!
Cracklins bag half full of crumbs and salt. Without a doubt the cracklins are good but the last TWO times (at different times of the day) I went to Chops the bag was half full of crumbs and salt. Shame on the server (same person) for giving Chops a bad review for something they are good at doing. Such a dissapointment. Beware if you stop in, you may not get your moneys worth.
Worst Plate Lunch Ever!. I ordered a plate lunch last Thursday. I got the brisket with rice dressing, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans.It came with a chocolate chip cookie and a slice of bread. The only thing I ate was the macaroni, beans, and cookie.The rice dressing was horrible and on top of the dressing was a pile of fatty meat with a ton of salt in it. I’ve never eatenbrisket that was so horrible. My last visit there.
Boudin is best in the area and cracklins are too. They have some of the best fresh sausage around. Short order items and plate lunches are good also.
Best cracklins in Acadiana. Cracklins are one of my favorite snacks, and I’ve eaten hundreds of varieties from pretty much everywhere, and the cracklins from Chops are the best. They are consistently fresh, warm, and well-seasoned. It’s hard to put the bag down!
