Great place for good freshly prepared food and great service!
I have always posted rave reviews until my last visit. I just get the feeling that they are struggling. They were out of several items, the menu was torn and they got rid of happy hour (not a big deal but worth mentioning). Another thing that I just can’t understand is why they don’t have special rolls especially on a Friday night but even stranger they don’t have a drink menu. I’m not asking for much but maybe a list with just a few Martinis, beer and wine but nothing. Not only would that really increase sales it would be more convenient for the customer. I think with just a few minor changes they could be really successful but right now they are going downhill.

Very good sushi! I definitely recommend! Service is better than that of other sushi restaurants in the area. My only complaint would be the dim lighting.. Felt like we needed flashlights to read the menu! Other than that, everything was great! We will definitely be back!
Wait staff must count on gratuity. Last night we went eat there for the first time with another couple. Four adults and four children in total. We should have left after the first 15-20 minutes when we didn’t have anyone take or order, for drinks or food. We get drinks; wait another 20 minutes and have to get a waitress to come and take our order. The food comes out and is brought out to our table over the next 15 minutes. Entrees before appetizers, have never been checked on for drink refills, and naturally the last food to come out was for the kids. You mix this all up with the bill not being split up for the two families and you have a very aggravating experience. I know we were a table of 8 or more, but I could not in good conscience charge a 15% gratuity knowing how bad the service I provided was.The food was actually really good. Outside of that it’s all bad. Water tastes funky, chipped plates, bad service, and an oblivious owner. I watched the owner bring out order, socialize, make sure people were waited on, and have orders taken for people who were seated long after we were….I guess if you know him you will get better service than we had. The service is not the fault of the waitress; it is the fault of the owner. ONE waitress is trying to serve everyone in the restaurant while the other one wipes menus, wipes down clean tables to look busy, and keeps on running to the back yet never comes out with an order. So if you don’t mind burning 1.5-2 hours for good food with bad service Sushi Roxx is a perfect fit.
Would I go back? Probably not.. Food was excellent…some of the best sushi I’ve had in a while. (Sashimi roll, saints roll, lollipop roll, spicy tuna, and one other that was delicious…also had the calamari and kids chicken/French fries) We had heard good things about this place and we decided to try it out for ourselves…but yeah, don’t think I will be going back. Service was awful…one waitress doing the entire restaurant along side one other girl who proved to be completely useless. We had 4 adults and 4 children (2,3,5,&6) We got there around 6:15pm place was empty and it took forever to get waited on, by the time we left it was packed and hardly could catch our waitress. Our bill alone was $86 with gratuity already factored in–shouldn’t have been tipped so much for such poor service (although I don’t blame her…this girl was doing the best she could… I blame the manager who should know better) We don’t eat sushi, but once every other month so we don’t worry about prices too much, however, we typically get the same type of rolls and we have never spent $86.
We finally tried this place out…only because Jason’s Grill(across the street) took their sushi off the menu. We were hesitant to go at first because of the reviews on here. Majority of the reviews was mainly about their service. When we walked in we were greeted and seated. We happened to go in during happy hour so that was great. Deals on sushi and drinks is always a plus!!! We ordered 6 rolls and I have to say that took a while. Even though we had edamame as an appetizer, the rolls did not come until another 30-35 mins after we finished the edamame. It seems even longer when you’re hungry, ha. The rolls were good, no complaints about the food at all. One roll that stood out was the Paradise roll. It was really good! The Sashimi roll was really good too for the raw sushi lovers. Pricing was reasonable. Maybe the happy hour was a key factor in that, ha! It was buy one roll and get second roll half off. They also had other rolls at a deal. I would definitely go back!!!!
