Went with the daughter at about 7:00 in the evening. We both got the daily special. For her, the pork roast with rice, for me the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes. Well, not so good, at least for her. The bread roll was so dried out the crust literally crumbled when she broke it open, pretty much inedible. And then the unforgivable…..the rice was rock hard! Come on folks, it’s Louisiana, and the rice makes or breaks the meal. In this case, it broke. I thought she might be a little picky, so I ate a bite of it and it felt like it had never been cooked. Just terrible. A quick note on the appetizer. We ordered fried mushrooms, and rather than getting mushrooms we got mushroom bits and pieces. Sort of like they chopped the mushrooms, then battered and fried them. Totally messed up the balance between the flesh of the ‘shroom and the batter. Overall, not a good dining experience, which is sort of disappointing since I used to eat at the Lake Charles location and always enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, here, I got one cup but what I did get was an earful of gossip as the two young servers talked about their boyfriends, their parents, their classes all the while checking the ol’ text machine glued to their palms. I’m sticking with Pitt Grill.
Did not like… I was craving fried oysters….ordered the oyster basket…was told it had 6 to 8 oysters…told them to not worry about the fries and hushpuppies..I only wanted the oysters…there was five oysters in my to go box….and they did not taste good….I ate there a few months ago also and was not impressed…and I don’t find the staff friendly or welcoming either….When I paid for my food and was trying to thank them, the waitresses were too busy discussing who was going to take a new table that they didn’t acknowledge me – the presently paying customer….
Very unhappy about food. I ordered the special of the day for supper, and it tasted like it had been under a heat lamp for hours. The chicken fried chicken was hard, and I could barely chew it. The fries were soggy and also seemed old. Definitely will think twice about going there again.
NOT HAPPY WITH SERVICE. I have always loved their food. Their lunches are to die for. The problem is the WAIT! I ordered 2 to go lunches at 1:25 pm over the phone. They told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. I came in there at 1:45 and my food was STILL not done. Needless to say, I didnt receive my food until 2:25. That is one hour from the time I called. I did talk to someone about this, but I didn’t get an apology or anything! I called up there an hour later hoping to catch a manager. I left a vm for someone to call me and it NEVER happened. I will not be returning unless I order my food at 9 am in hopes of it being ready for my lunch hour.
Good Food!. Went here for a quick bite and was surprised how well done everything was done. Lots of employees, so food was fast and fresh. Refils on drinks and all service was excellent! Love it! Will do this again and again!
