Prejean’s restaurant is an unforgettable dining experience. Our visit was for Sunday lunch, and we were lucky enough to catch the live Cajun music performance. The aroma greeting customers on entry is enough to get your mouth watering. Then you see the awards won by their chefs for their culinary expertise. So you know good things are to come. Our server was a very nice young man who served me the most unique lemon water I have ever experienced. I asked for one with as many lemon wedges as he could put in it. I uploaded the photograph, it makes quite the show, and reflected creativity and great customer service on his part.I ordered the Crawfish etouffe, I figured I was in the right place for the dish. The flavor and consistency was outstanding, but there wasn’t enough crawfish in my portion to justify the price. However, since the meat pie which accompanied the dish had adequate crawfish, I’m willing to say the lack of crawfish in the etouffe was an anomaly. My companions ordered the Seafood Gumbo dinner portion and the Chicken Oscar respectively. The Gumbo had an excellent dark roux with deep flavor, absolutely delicious. There was plenty of crawfish, shrimp, and crab in the gumbo. However, I must note the shrimp were cocktail size. The Chicken Oscar was topped with lump crabmeat and hollandaise, hard to go wrong with that. The sauce and crab were excellent, chicken was grilled and my companion liked it very much. It was served with asparagus which was generously offered to me, and it was tender delicious. The atmosphere at Prejean’s is uniquely Louisiana Cajun, and it’s right off the highway, so it’s inviting to tourists. The food and service is very good and you will leave happy and full. Enjoy a good meal with the friendly Cajuns at Prejean’s chere 😉
Amazing restaurant !!! From the food to the service to the ambiance…Loved it so much that we drove down from North Louisiana, twice in less than a month to eat there !
Great for kids. Good breakfast. Excellent service. Attention to and reconciliation of our extended wait time was much appreciated……..
Fairly good Cajun food. Spicy. Not sure why they serve their corn maque choux in an out-of-the-freezer-box mini pie shell. Bizarre. Dirty rice is ok. Best offerings they have are the blackened and fried seafood, and the frog legs are good. But I had the blackened Drum, and it did NOT look like a $21 entree when it came to my table. Looked like cafeteria food at best, with the rice still in the shape of the scoop and the overdone corn inside the freezer pie crust mini. For shame.
Me and my boyfriend we’re so excited to try Prejeans after hearing so many great things, but we were both highly disappointed. Love the atmosphere and the live band but the food did not live up to expectations!
Yeah it’s a bit too touristy, yeah it’s a bit over the top and yeah the carry-out dishes are way over-priced. But…..it’s pretty dang good cajun fare. Having been to Prejean’s a few times I’ve had several of their staples and one of the best things they do is boudin. I ordered some fried boudin balls and a single crabcake from the app menu for my meal and was not disappointed.A shade over priced but hey, do you know how much a 14 foot long stuffed alligator costs these days? Gotta pay for that decor somehow.
I ate here a couple of days ago for the first time in several years. Our server was very polite. However, I would say the server was not very attentive. I went through most of my meal without a drink refill. I ordered the crawfish touffe, which I enjoyed. I did not care for the crawfish pie that came with my order. I took one bite and just got a mouthful of dough.
