Went there for lunch today. The smoked duck and andouille gumbo was fantastic. Served with a roll that is basted in butter. The eggplant pirogue Louis was very tasty. The eggplant was cooked perfectly- crispy but still firm and tender. It was surrounded by shrimp, crawfish and crab. The sauce was delicious and I could have sopped it up with the roll of Id had any left.
Best Cajun restaurant around. I go or order from there every opportunity I get. Food is excellent! My personal favorites are the stuffed mushrooms entree, and the Crawfish festival for the main course. Hard to eat it all but it’s so good, I find room in the belly haha
The good: authentic/rustic Cajun. During our visit we were fortunate to have a swamp boogie band playing for us during Sunday lunch – great touch! Pepper shrimp was outstanding – 3 was enough for a full meal. Chicken gumbo better than the seafood gumbo. Not so good: rude waitress
