Was good, has going down since. I have been going to taste of Tokyo for years in the begging was good but this last two time was horrible i like the steam fish but this time the fish was like rubber the barehanded rolls was old like they did it before we order
Favorite!. I’ve been going to Taste of Tokyo with my family for four years now. Prior to that, I’ve tried several sushi places across the New Orleans Metro area including acclaimed establishments such as Shogun, Fuji Hana, or Hana in New Orleans. That being said, Taste of Tokyo is my absolute favorite. The fish is deliciously fresh, all of the rolls cleverly and creatively crafted, and a constant influx of new ideas. I recommend cajun tuna sashimi, the kobe beef, shan shan roll, as well as the volcano roll. For desert, the tempura brownies. But honestly, I’ve never had a thing I didn’t like. Not only is the food incomparable, but the service is great. It’s a family place, run by a husband and wife who’s children help out when they can. Very kind people. Sometimes the waiters can come off a bit quiet, but they are all very caring and aim for your happiness. It’s a great place.
My favorite Sushi place in new Orleans area and fortunately it’s less than a mile away from my house 🙂

Massive Menu & great food. My wife and I do a lot of traveling and Taste of Tokyo in Destrehan, La. is for sure one of the best on selection, variety, creativity, service and price. Their sushi and roll menu is one of the largest I have seen. Local atmosphere and world wide selection. Super wine and saki selection also. Ya gotta try this place…… one of the best.
Cool Place. My buddies and I love Taste of Tokyo. They have a good variety of great, both sushi and non-sushi items. Everything’s always fresh. The staff’s really friendly and the atmosphere is warm/welcoming. Great for anyone who’s not digging the idea of fighting traffic to get to one of the sushi places closer to the city.P.S. They do take-out.P.P.S They have this great book that they give you with the menu that details exactly what’s in all the rolls. Great for people not familiar with sushi.
