I’ve been here a few times. The food is pretty good. However, the place seems noisy every time I’ve dined there. Perhaps this has something to do with the layout. But, it makes conversing at your table a little hard. The service is usually okay. On our last lunch, I walked in with two others. We didn’t have a reservation, but we didn’t care about waiting. When we walked in and said we needed a table for 3, we were quickly swooped over to a high top table, but not before being chastised by the man seating us for not having a reservation. He pretty much implied that the reason we were being seated at a high top was because we didn’t have a reservation. We didn’t care where we sat, we didn’t care about waiting or not waiting. We were having a leisure lunch. So, his whole bit seemed a little unnecessary. Our server ended up being great that visit and so was the food. It just started off rocky.

We ventured here tonight for another visit and some dinner. Sad to say by the time we finally coerced the guy behind the bar to find our check and credit card and get it back to us the mood was pretty much dampened and we will take a break from here for the foreseeable future. This after the dinner service was also extremely slow and when we pointed out that a couple who came in at least 10-15 minutes after us were eating a full 10-15 minutes before us that was met with a mumbling excuse. The steak frites salad would be better if the fries on top were hot and fresh. The shrimp pasta my wife ordered was akin to a Healthy Choice steamer with frozen pink and rubbery shrimp.$7.50 for a Canebrake is a tad steep. (I suppose they have to make up for the Happy Hour prices) Lastly as I close out this chapter is that Bistro Byronz has an ID crisis to me. Not formal, not intimate, not romantic, not a sports bar. It does not represent clearly in any area and it seems the crowds have died down here quite a bit since the original fanfare. We live very near but never really put it on our fave list, I suppose with good reason.

Had a horrible experience during brunch. Myself and 4 other friends went for brunch and it was horrible. The powdered grits which looked like they were instant and just put into a dish, they were just powder. The poached eggs were all hard boiled eggs. I was embarrassed to have suggested to my friends that we have brunch there. That will be the last time, absolutely horrible.
