Winner, winner! Yes it was chicken dinner! As a chef I rarely give a second chance to a restaurant. This place, I will be back. A very good dish of chicken caper and fried asparagus was all on this first visit. Portions were large, cooked properly and needed very little in the way of additional seasoning. Chicken had a great crust on it and the sauce from the lemon butter caper linguine was a perfect compliment. Typical bread was served and a good wine selection was available. Host was prompt, which is a big pet peeve of mine, I’ll walk out if not greeted fairly quick. Service was accommodating. The only thing that was annoying were the loud guest next to me. Typical BR socialites bragging about how much and who they know.
One of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge. Todd and James are both great servers and the food is excellent!
Local Hit. 1st time and I am definitely going to return. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. The walls draped with colorful paintings add to the relaxed, inviting ambiance. The only item that I wasn’t impressed with was the egg roll app. After tasting, I didn’t really get the flavor combinations and thought it was overpowered by the mustard. My wife had the special, basically a filet in a port sauce, cooked a perfect medium rare, and it was delicious; a great entree. I went with the meadow grouper. The description on the menu was weird but peaked my interest. Fish, fried oysters, strawberries, chili glaze? It was Awesome! The fish was delicious. I don’t know how a few fried oysters tie in, but they were fried perfectly, tasted fresh, and just added another texture. This was one of my best experiences as a diner in BR.
Not so great. Different owners or something? Food was just OK, service horrendous. I remember it being much better when it first opened. Owners were visible and attentive. I used to drive from New Orleans to this place. I remember meeting an Owner, I think Gil was his name. We were treated to a fantastic meal and great dining experience. Place is just average now. I won’t be back. Too many better options.
Amazing. I’m never disappointed when I go here. The filet is always cooked perfectly, the wedge salad is a perfectly balanced concoction, the fried asparagus spears are to die for! Will definitely return, again and again.

Grits. The grits were excellent.The beer (I had an Abita Amber) tasted like it had been on a shelf for months. The beer selection was disappointing- Bud, Corona, Heineken…etc. A smaller selection of micro brews (Tin Roof Blonde, NOLA brown/blonde, LA31, Sierra Nevada…etc) that are actually kept fresh would cover all the bases and provide beer of similar quality to match the food. Perhaps it doesn’t help that they aren’t on the menu either.The wine was good.
