Pretty much the definition of meh for me. There’s nothing here that I want to eat when I think about the place and there are not many restaurants that I can say that about.
My wife and I dine here periodically over the past 2+ years and have dined with other couples several times. All have liked it and never had a bad meal or experience. Service had always been cheerful and efficient. My favorite dishes are the sweet chili glazed salmon and chicken and broccoli stirfry. Porticos are generous for us, prices reasonable. If you are health conscious, better check the nutrition values for the dishes. We use the My Fitness Pal app to check them before ordering. Usually we eat half the portion and take half home for a lunch.
Went back to Kona for a special family dinner. Horrible!! Food was old and stale. There was very little meat in any of the dishes we ordered. So small you could barely see it. Dinner Salad was soggy and inedible. None of us (5) finished our dinner. Very disappointed. Only takes one bad experience to ruin it forever. The price is way too high for the food to be that terrible.28 Jun, 2014My husband and I went for a special occasion. Manager & wait staff were very friendly, helpful & accommodating. Beautiful atmosphere. Food was out of this world delicious. Hubby said BEST hamburger he’s ever had in his life (which is saying a lot). 🙂 Pad Thai outstanding, lettuce wraps were exceptional! Best food I’ve had in town. So much to choose from, will have to go back many times to try more! Highly recommended. If we go out, we don’t go during peak times in order to enjoy our experience without crowds, wait or obnoxious children, teens or loud parties.
Excellent Service. Though the food is overpriced, it’s what you expect dining in Perkins Rowe. Thought the pasta I had was very tasty, and the service and manager were VERY friendly!
Tuna steak was lacking flavor and came on an oversized bed of rice. At least the beer was nice and cold.

My friends can be particular about food, just one of the reasons we all like to eat out together. At Kona, we keep going back for the avocado rolls, sweet & spicy shrimp app (not breaded/deep-fried greasy like at other places), and the margherita flatbread which is like a thin, crunchy pizza.I rec. trying these at happy hr. when they’re $5-6 to see if you like as much as I do.
