The pollo en moleis probably the best I’ve had anywhere. Great value and excellent food.
Impressive. Do not let the looks of this place deceive you. It is a small whole in the wall restaurant but has amazing food. Definitely worth a try. I had the Honduran Tacos as the picture shows, it was very good.
Its ok…for a groupon. I love when places I havent tried run a Groupon so I dont feel like Ive wasted too much if I dont care for it. We are very open to all kinds of cuisines, so we were happy to try this place. Its not very fancy, though that doesnt really matter. What I didnt care for was the owners allowing a small child to ride their bike between the tables like its ok. Not only is it not safe for the child, its disruptive and hazardous. My hubby ordered a tamale, which he was happy with. I got the fish tacos…a bit salty and hard to find the fish…meh, Ive had better. I wound up only eating one of them and ate the beans (which I never do, so that has to tell you something…) Hubby got the asada plate. the meat tasted good, but again, Ive had better. this was a toss up. I was happy to have only paid the Groupon price. Hubby liked it more than I did. He can go back. I wont be with him.
Awesome Mole. I wasn’t sure about chocolate and chicken, but I ordered the Pollo en Mole to be adventurous! What a tasty dish! the flavors were divine, the sauce was spicy but well-mixed and very smoothe for a delightful taste experience! The paella was very good, but a little milder than I’m used to, thanks to years of eating spicy cajun jambalaya! The carne asado tacos were delicious, but the Honduran tacos were over the top! I totally recommend this place. It tastes home-cooked and you will not be sorry!
So glad they ran a groupon deal. I’ve been wanting to try La Reyna for years, but coming from the West Coast, I don’t have a lot of faith in Latin American restaurants on this side of the Mississippi. The Groupon deal made me finally give it a shot and it absolutely paid off. The waitress (owner?) recommended the Pollo en Mole, and we also had some Tacos Adobo and Pastelitos (meat and potato pies). All were outstanding, but the mole really stood out. The prices are more than fair – we both ate until we were full and had a whole meal’s worth of food left to take home. I think the total bill was less than thirty dollars (without the Groupon). Give La Reyna a shot – you won’t regret it!
Very good. My wife and I had a Groupon for this place and finally got a chance to use it this past weekend. We have been in Baton Rouge and have been trying to find THE restaurant worth going back to. La Reyna is it. We love hole in the walls with excellent food and this place fits the bill.We have spent most of our time in the west and have found that most Latin/Mexican restaurants in east of the Mississippi to be mediocre at best. Most don’t even know what green sauce is! This place I am happy to report is not watered down like most south of the boarder restaurants here are. I had the cammerones picante and my wife had the fish enchiladas. Both were excellent and the price more than fair. I strongly recommend if your looking for something different. We will be back.
