Great experience. The bread really is great. You get the bread and salad and there is no need to order anything else, only thing is you’ll miss out on some really good food. The Lasagna was fresh warm and cooked perfectly. The cheese was melted, not cooked into a hard square, the marinara tasted homemade, and the pasta was perfect not flimsy and overcooked. I also had the pleasure of meeting Laila and have to say she adds an authenticity to this restaurant only a woman who has traveled could. She was polite, caring, and knowledgeable. Not sure what else you could ask for in a manager. The waiter showed the same care and respect. Over all it was a great experience at a locally owned restaurant.P.S. try the bread

The appetizer of shrimp and grits , veal piccata and the osso bucco was the very best we have had in Baton Rouge. Should add the shrimp and grits to menu. Great wait staff also

Priced too high for the taste. I had the baked lasagna and it had a somewhat frozen taste to it. Not something you would expect for a place like this. We did get the bread that everyone raves about. It did taste good-actually liked that better than my meal. Service was just okay. Not a place I would recommend

Good food. My boss and I went here for Admin professionals week. the special was a ribeye, baked potato and salad for $12 so we couldnt pass it up. the bread was yummy, but had WAY too much cheese on it. The salads would have been good, but again, WAY too much cheese on them. the steaks and potatoes were great and just enough. Ate every bite! Service was great. Will be back!

TERRIBLE SERVICE/MANAGEMENT. Overpriced food. Terrible service. We wanted a nice dinner to celebrate a personal occasion and thought we’d give LV another try. (We had a bad experience before but was hoping it was purely circumstantial) What a waste. Never going back. The service was terrible. The server was more interested in socializing with other employees to refill our drinks or check on our table. It took forever for the food to arrive when the place was barely busy. My chicken came out still bleeding and cold, when the server appeared she seemed not that interested in replacing the entree or getting a manager to help. When the manager Laila did arrive she was the rudest, downright hateful and most offensive manager I have ever met. She should take a lesson or two in customer service and brush up on her social skills and learn to be courteous and friendly. Needless to say we will never return to this establishment. If they aren’t concerned with customer service they should just close down.

Too Expensive. No wonder they don’t put the prices on the online menu, because they don’t want to scare people away. We paid $37 for each steak, and the menu said you get your choice of potato…but then were told the jumbo baked potato was sold separately, another $6 ea. and the potato wasn’t jumbo. The steak was really good, but also very small. This place is way too expensive for the food you get, and you’re not able to substitute anything, they couldn’t at least just charge you the difference. The bread was alright at $6 for a half loaf but I kept thinking how it didn’t compare to the cheddar bay biscuits at Red Lobster, which are endless and FREE.

Bread was good…. The bread was good as usual, but the food was cold and just so-so. This is the second time this happens. And when I asked for the lunch menu, I was told that they did away with it for the Christmas holidays. How nice. Gouge people who are out shopping for the holidays. Never going during the holidays again and then it will only be for the bread.
