Average food gets and average rating. Some local friends and I met today for lunch. And since its Taco Tuesday, they suggested Mi Padres. I ordered queso, guacamole and the mixed grill- beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas with all the normal sides. The beef fajita has literally no flavor. It even barely tastes like beef. The shrimp and chicken were both tasty. Rice and beans were nothing spectacular, although I was impressed with the tortillas. Queso was decent, but the guacamole was actually just smashed avocado. No peppers, onion, cilantro, etc. I tasted some lemon juice, but that’s about it. As others have mentioned the portions can be on the smaller side. 3 shrimp, and 5 slices each of the beef and chicken. That could also have to do with ordering off the lunch menu (but we weren’t given any other option) All in all, not a terrible meal, but no desire to return any time soon.
Good food! Loved the fajitas, had the mixed grill. Good sauce comes with it, shrimp are huge, tortillas are excellent. My son also loved the chicken fajita enchiladas. Would have been a perfect meal if only they served micheladas.
Placed my order (which the waitress disputed me about what was on the menu) and when I received my food it was wrong. Flour tortillas instead of corn. Easy fix, right? I don’t ever expect any business to get everything right all the time so if something is wrong, it matters more to me if/how it’s corrected than them doing everything perfect. I tell her my food is wrong and she says she can go get the kitchen to fix it. The manager comes back with my same plate and rudely tells me that those are indeed corn tortillas and argues with me when I tell him they clearly aren’t. The waitress comes back and basically says that yes they were wrong, and that they’ll just make my order correct and make it to go. I didn’t even care at this point because I had been there an hour and they were just incredibly rude and difficult. Gives me the to go order, which was wrong in a different way, and still made me pay for the whole meal. AWFUL experience, even worse management. I will never go back to this place and certainly will tell everyone I know to avoid it. If you’re managing a Mexican restaurant and can’t tell the difference between a corn and flour tortilla, you’re in the wrong business.
