Pleasantly suprised. First of all, the prices are very reasonable. The interior of the restaurant was perfect. I didn’t do the hibachi, but was entertained by the chef’s, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. We did the LSU roll, which was really tasty with a bit of spice. The spicy tuna roll was expertly prepared and great to look at, but was just average as for the quality of the tuna. Still a great value. The steamed dumplings were fragrant and the filling was seasoned perfectly. I can’t believe I haven’t been before considering its about 5 minutes away. I’ll definitely return. Oh, and if you live in the area, they mail out some really good coupons.

Very good sushi. The sushi is good quality and the rolls are big. If you get two rolls for two people get ready to eat.
I’m not sure what has changed at the restaurant, but it was not for the better! The waitress was young and apparently new. She was not what we were used to. Miss Lily was absent. She was so attentive and new us by name. Didn’t feel very welcome like it used to be. The food was okay at best. The cook forgot my chicken as part of the Nagoya special. He had to go back and get it. It should have been the first meat on the grill. The rice was less than stellar and a lot smaller than usual. I ordered extra rice and it didn’t even cover half my plate. I asked for no noodles and apparently that meant no vegetables either. We used to be here every other week. It will be a long time before we return again!
I have not tried the sushi but I have had Habachi and every time I go the food is great! Good service and atmosphere. You should really try it
Hidden Gem. I’ve usually been to Nagoya Cafe for lunch since it’s close to work, but I have been a couple of times in the evening and I’ve not been disappointed once. The atmosphere is relaxing even when there are plenty of people around in the evenings, the staff genuinely pleasant and attentive, the decor very well schemed, and the food wonderful – overall a very polished establishment, equally great for a night out with friends, casual lunch, or a date.I’ve not tried the hibachi yet – I’ve usually stuck with the lunch special for sushi which is a great bargain. I’d also encourage you to try the ‘Fire on the Bayou’ special roll – immense in size but delicious! The gyoza are also very tasty and they often have a special lower price at lunch. I can’t say I’ve had something I didn’t like from their menu and it’s always been delivered in good time with a smile.
I LOVE this place. I haven’t found a hibachi place I 100% love down here (Tokyo Cafe is a close second to this). The staff is friendly, the hibachi is reasonably priced and GOOD, and you get so much food both my fiance and I have lunch the following day. We’ve been here a lot, and will be back many times again
