I visited the restaurant at lunch time with my coworkers. We ordered a variety of items such as seafood platters, gyros, and burgers. All of us thought it was absolutely delicious. This might just be better than an actual New Orleans poboy shop. Excellent food, friendly service, and a great environment. Will 100% be back
This is my favorite place to go for lunch in Baton Rouge. The red beans and rice special on Monday is amazing. Lots of very seasoned red beans and rice, with a healthy portion of full sausages, topped with raw onion and garlic bread. Wow.I’m a huge gyro fan. There are good places in BR like serops and albasha. But this place reminds me of aNew York street gyro. Packed with meat, not an overload of veg on top, a good dose of chive yogurt as well. Totally worth it.This place has typical poboy/burger selections,But the daily specials are key.
Perfect Lunch!!! My wife and I ate here for lunch. She had a roast beef Po boy which was excellent with lots of gravy and flavorful roast beef. We had onion rings that were fresh thin sliced with very light flaky crust – could not have been better. I had the fried shrimp Po boy. The French bread was perfect, crispy and fresh but not too hard. Lots of shrimp. We live out of town now but I’ve added this place to my favorites so that we can come here often when we visit.
Great Po-boy, Bad Gyro. Came home for vacation and always look for a new spot to check out. Decided to come here for a po-boy cause I’ve been just about everywhere else and it didn’t let me down…….when it came to the po-boy. Bread soft and warm, lettuce and tomato crunched like they just came out tha garden and shrimp was on point. I was craving a gyro too so I had one of those. Now HERE is where I was disappointed. Considering po-boys and gyros were in the restaurant’s name, I figured those were the two can’t misses. That gyro was one of the worst I’ve ever tasted. Everything seemed fresh…..but tha flavor left much to be desired. They have a huge menu so I’ll be back to check it out……..I’ll just get my gyro from somewhere else.
Gem of a lunch spot. I’ve been eating here for 10+ years. Never had a bad dish here. The food is fresh, plentiful and delicious. Some of my favorites are the muffaletta, oyster po-boy, and the Greek salad with chicken. I also like their shrimp po-boys, hummus, onion rings, and fried mushrooms. The owner is extremely gracious and welcoming. He is doing something right because the place is always buzzing at lunch time. They recently expanded their dining area which was a much needed upgrade. I highly recommend New Orleans PoBoy and Gyros for anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly place to have a fresh, tasty meal.
Amazing food! Everything is home style cooking prepared by the owners. I’ve eaten everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Probably the best poboys in BR
