Too much salt?. Went for lunch today, and they were debuting a new lunch menu. I chose the grilled heart of romaine salad, and 9-layer lasagna. The wife had a cucumber Caprese salad and spicy Salsiccia pasta (which lived up to its name — VERY spicy). I really enjoyed my salad; it was one of the best salads I’ve had. However both of the pasta dishes were a little too salty for my taste and therefore I can’t recommend either of them. I have had their tomato & brie pasta as well as their Alfredo w/ cranberries in the past and both were good. Perhaps they were just a little heavy-handed with the salt today.
Our first visit to Ninos and we were rewarded with excellent service and 4 star lasagna, a hard decision on entree choices as they all sounded good. The lasagna was fabulous and I will come back for the veal chop next time.
Great experience. We had a great experience for dinner here. The homemade sourdough bread was delicious to start. The grilled romaine salad was so different and really good. We had the Ragu with duck confit and it was fantastic. The homemade pasta and the marinara sauce was perfect. We took an order of the cookies to go because of the reviews, and they are easily the best I’ve ever had. We can’t wait to go back. It was a nice place for a candlelit dinner and the prices are great too!
Just throw a dart at the menu…everything is wonderful
Wonderful. Great food…loved it all!
The Best. Nino’s is hands down my favorite restaurant I Baton Rouge, especially for Italian food. The pasta is homemade in house and fresh, and the menu is so different from all the typical staples here in town. I’ve never had a bad meal at this restaurant and will continue to return there on a regular basis! And the cookies, don’t leave without getting the cookies for dessert!! My absolute favorite, everyone should try it, but I do recommend a reservation!
Pasta. Why can’t any of the reviewers say if the pasta is made from scratch at the Italian restaurants?
