Terrible!. I was looking forward to having beignets and hot chocolate at Rue Beignet, based on all the great reviews. Boy, was I disappointed! The beignets were hard and too dark/semi-burned and the hot chocolate was watery. There was one person in the back making the beignets and one person on the register, with a line of at least 5-6 customers the whole time we were there. I initially took this as a good sign, that these was going to be a treat because people were willing to wait. NOT. Terrible.
Love this place! Aside from Cafe Du Monde this place has set the bar. Friendly staff cozy environment and fast service!
The beignets were soft, fluffy, warm and served on blue Fiesta ware! I also had an iced Cafe au Lait and it was delicious! (It was real coffee, not some iced McDonald’s creation.)
Good!. This is the closest to Cafe Du Monde you can get. The coffee is good as well; felt like I was on Decatur Street.
It’s good…. This is about as close as it gets without going to NOLA for beignets.
