AWFUL – USED TO BE GREAT. I used to work near this restaurant and ate there probably twice a week. We had people who ate there everyday and the food was delicious.I hadn’t been in a long time so I went out of my way to eat there today. What a disappointment that would turn out to be. The menu had changed so I asked OK so the #14 is the same as a #14 except with fries correct? Yes was the answer. As they were plating the meal I realized it was not the same. Instead of a gyro sandwich with fries – it was fries with gyro meat and bread. OK, they said – we can fix that but it will cost a little more. So the SUM DIFFERENCE in the meals would be lettuce, tomato, sauce and onions – for which I would pay an extra 2.60 Anyway, OK so they overcharged me but I still want the gyro. I discovered these at Ohio State in the mid 70s and have loved them ever since. I have NEVER had one in 40 years this bad. Cold Stale Bread – Cold Meat, Inadequate Toppings. ‘Course they did throw in some more cold stale bread to go with it – wooohoo.Since I’ve bashed them so bad and since I still love Gyros – I’d have to recommend Alibasha. It’s about 10.00 for the Gyro Sandwich and Fries – but I’ve yet to have one that wasn’t piping hot and AWESOME! Sorry Serops – you’re off the Lunch Place List.
This is my favorite of the Serop’s locations. The salad is green and delicious instead of the white garbage lettuce other greek places serve. Also, the service is quick and the chicken is fresh and not fatty. So glad it’s close to work!
This place is very over rated the food is get by over priced an most of all they have the smallest portions I’ve every seen an where want great Greek food try albasha there food is great portions large atmosphere great an good prices I’ve been to three locations Allgood
Close to I-10 and quick and great.. Those who have been around BR for 25+ years remember the grandpappy of BR middle eastern food was the big Serops on Goverment Street . This is the off-off-shoot of those folks who know a thing or two about about running a restaurant and making delicious food. Don’t let the fact that this place serves prepared food from a hot table detract or dissuade you from the very large selection of tasty offerings. You will wonder why you had to wait so long for lesser quality food at the many other middle restaurants in BR. If you are traveling through, it is right off I-10, and take out is how I often do it.
I had a take out order today Food was terrible It was a gyro plate eat was dry and ice cold very disappointed It was my 4th visit there, as we always have these items since my son requests this when we come to visit him at LSU Today was his birthday …. Very sad this happened on Sunday at 2pm
